Speaker Emeritus Calvin K.Y. Say and former Hawaii State Representative Jon Riki Karamatsu releasing peace doves in 2007 to commemorate Peace Day Hawaii, which recognizes September 21 as Peace Day, which is also recognized by the United Nations. Hawaii was the first State in the the union to pass a law to honor this day.
For the 2020 elections, Speaker Emeritus Calvin K.Y. Say is running for Honolulu City Council District V that consists of Kaimuki, Palolo Valley, St. Louis Heights, Manoa, Moiliili, McCully, and portions of Ala Moana, Kakaako, and Makiki.
