The 6th Bioeconomy & Innovation Forum

Speaker Emeritus Calvin K.Y. Say worked with the 2020 Forum Committee Members: Janis Koh, Matt Kapaliku Schirman, Watmond Ngai, and Sung-Hwan You to organize the 6th Annual Bioeconomy & Innovation Forum at the auditorium of the Hawaii State Capitol on February 25, 2020. The forum’s goal was to bring together private sector and government to look at opportunities to work together to solve sustainability problems through the use of technology, bioeconomy, and government support.

Presenters and attendees from all over the world attended this event such as South Korea, China, Vietnam, Africa, mainland U.S.A., and Hawaii, U.S.A. The forum covered the following topics: optimal forest management, river area development, agriculture, aquaculture, sea culture, renewable energy, Gorse, biofuel, waste-to-energy systems, sewage recycling for cities, smart farms for cities, smart sea farms for cities, broadband, and 5G millimeter-wave wireless technology.

Speaker Emeritus Calvin K.Y. Say has shepherded opportunities for Hawaii companies, mainland U.S. companies, international companies, and the state and city governments in Hawaii to come together to create value for the Hawaii and its visitors. His goal is to keep improving Hawaii’s ability to be more self-sustainable and environmentally friendly. Speaker Emeritus Say also desires to better the quality of life in Hawaii.

If elected to the Honolulu City Council, Speaker Emeritus Say will work hard to execute urban solutions to the self-sustainable challenges unique to large cities like the City and County of Honolulu. He has an extensive network in Hawaii, the U.S.A., and around the world that he will continue to work with to take Honolulu and Hawaii to the next level in technology, bioeconomy, and sustainability.
